　２６日に長野市Nagano-shiで行われた北京五輪Beijing Olympic Gamesの聖火リレーsacred-fire relay。約３０００人の警察官を投入し、６人の逮捕者が出るなど妨害行為が相次ぎ、沿道が混乱するなか、８０人のランナーたちは１８・７キロにわたって“聖なる火”sacred fireをつなぎ続けた。住民との触れ合いを求めて再び街に飛び出した有名人ランナー、使命感を持って走った五輪メダリスト…。一人一人が、平和への思いを聖火に乗せて駆け抜けた。
